EIS seals radar deal with China
Radar technology specialist EIS (booth 1311) has shipped 400 radar traffic
detection devices to Tian Jin, China, in one of the largest deals of
its kind.
The 400 non-intrusive Remote Traffic Microwave Sensors (RTMS) are
to be installed on the Tian Jin Express Route project.
Linking Beijing to the harbour town of Tian Jin, installation of
the devices on the 145 km, eight-lane freeway should be complete by
July 2006, in time for the Beijing Olympics in 2008.
The RTMS provides per-lane presence, volume, occupancy, speed and
classification information, in up to eight user-defined detection
zones simultaneously.
“This shipment sends a very positive signal to our international
and local customers, being a major milestone that paves the way for
the continued expansion of our product lines in China,” says Sini
Stojicic, vice president, business development. “The project in Tian
Jin further strengthens our solid leadership position since it is
one of the world’s largest orders for non-intrusive freeway traffic
detection so far.”
This is the first major deal for EIS’s Chinese joint venture with
ShenZhen GoodTell, which also sold 55 units for a ring road project
in Beijing earlier this year.
